Your Questions, Answered
General Session FAQs:
-
My work lives somewhere between documentary and fine art. I focus on warm, candid, emotionally present images that honor real connection, natural movement, and the story unfolding in front of me.
-
I offer gentle direction when needed, but I do not believe sessions need to feel stiff or overly posed. I may guide you toward beautiful light, suggest movement, or help create a moment of connection, while still leaving space for things to unfold naturally.
-
That is completely normal. You do not need to know what to do. I will gently guide you through the session in a way that feels natural, relaxed, and true to you.
-
Sessions can take place outdoors, at home, in a meaningful location, or in a space that reflects your story. I am based in New York and photograph sessions across Long Island, NYC, and surrounding areas.
-
I recommend reaching out as early as possible, especially for weekends, seasonal sessions, events, and maternity sessions. Availability is limited to select evenings and weekends.
Film/Super 8 FAQs:
-
Yes. Film can be added to select sessions, and it is truly one of my favorite mediums. I work with several film cameras, each offering a different look, rhythm, and feeling. Some cameras ask us to slow down even more, while others allow for something more immediate and instinctive, but the results always carry a nostalgic, timeless, and artful quality that feels truly priceless.
If you are curious about which film option may be best for your session, I am always happy to talk through it with you.
-
Yes. Super 8 can be added to select sessions or events, and it has such a beautiful heirloom quality. It becomes the kind of moving memory you return to 5, 10, or 20 years from now — the light, the movement, the feeling of that season of life preserved in a way that is hard to replicate.
There is truly nothing like it.
-
Because film is developed and scanned by a lab, it requires a little more time and care beyond the digital gallery delivery. Timelines can vary depending on the lab and session type, and I will always communicate what to expect. Rush options may be available when possible.
Couples / engagement FAQs:
-
Couples sessions are relaxed, connected, and gently directed. The focus is less on perfect posing and more on movement, closeness, laughter, quietness, and the natural rhythm between you.
-
Yes. I love when couples choose places that feel connected to their story — a neighborhood, beach, home, park, café, city street, or somewhere you simply love being together.
-
Yes. Proposal sessions can be planned in advance with care so the moment feels natural, beautiful, and documented without feeling overly staged.
Family Session FAQs:
-
They do not have to. Family sessions are meant to make space for movement, play, curiosity, tenderness, and real connection. Some of the most meaningful images happen in the in-between moments.
-
Yes. My approach is gentle, flexible, and child-centered. As a mother and child therapist, I care deeply about creating a session experience where children feel safe, seen, and not overly pressured to perform.
-
Yes. At-home sessions can be beautiful and deeply personal. They are especially meaningful for families who want to document this season of life in the place where so much of their real story unfolds.
-
I recommend clothing that feels comfortable, timeless, and true to you. Soft textures, earthy tones, warm neutrals, gentle patterns, and pieces with movement tend to photograph beautifully. You do not need everyone to match; coordinated usually feels more natural than identical.
-
That is okay. I move slowly and give children space to adjust. I never expect children to perform immediately, and I follow the rhythm of the family as much as possible.
Booking / delivery FAQs:
-
Reach out through the contact page or by email with the type of session you are interested in, your preferred date or season, location, and anything meaningful you want me to know. Once we confirm details, your session is reserved with a signed agreement and retainer.
-
Yes. To officially reserve your session, a non-refundable retainer is required at booking. This holds your date just for you and allows me to begin preparing with care and intention.
Your remaining balance will be due by the date outlined in your agreement.
-
If the weather is not cooperating, we will talk through the best option together. For outdoor sessions, one reschedule may be allowed based on availability so your session can still feel natural, beautiful, and unhurried.
-
Delivery timelines depend on the session type and whether film, Super 8, or additional services are included. Your estimated delivery timeline will be shared at booking.
-
RAW files are not included. Each final image is thoughtfully selected and edited with care to reflect the warmth, feeling, and artistic style of my work. Your finished gallery will include the images that best tell the story of your session in a polished, intentional way.
Maternity FAQs:
-
Many maternity sessions are photographed between 28 and 34 weeks, when you are showing beautifully but still hopefully comfortable enough to move and enjoy the session.
-
Yes. Maternity sessions can be just you, or they can include your partner and children. I love documenting this season as both a personal portrait and a family story.
Brand / small business FAQs:
-
Brand sessions can include portraits, behind-the-scenes moments, product or detail images, workspace imagery, and storytelling photographs that reflect the heart of your work.
-
They are ideal for creatives, makers, therapists, artists, small business owners, and thoughtful brands that want imagery that feels personal, warm, human, and aligned.
-
Yes. We can talk through the feeling, setting, colors, details, and story you want your images to communicate before the session.
